About Our Architectural Metal Finishing Products

At Certified Enameling, Inc., we have over 60 years of continuous service in the architectural metal finishing industry and are recognized as the most outstanding kynar applicator in the Southwest. Over the past several decades, we have seen changes in the industry, and have acquired firsthand understanding of what types of materials are best suited for different types of projects. When you bring your project to us, we take the time to discuss the situation with you in depth in order to help you make an informed decision concerning the selection of the product that is most ideal to meet your needs. Our company makes use of the best products in the metal finishing industry, including:

Kynar®
Polyvinylidene fluoride, commonly marketed under the brand name Kynar, has been in use for nearly half a century and is widely considered to be the industry standard. As a Kynar applicator, we use 70% Kynar 500® FSF coatings. Kynar comes in standard colors, exotics, XL barrier coats, and micas and metallics from all major suppliers.

Powder Coating
Powder coating is electrostatically bonded to the surface, followed by using intense heat to cure the coating. We offer powder coatings from any and all of the major powder suppliers. Color availability for powder coating ranges from standard colors to custom and texture colors.

Certified Enameling, Inc. Cenamelize Coatings
Cenamelize coating is our proprietary architectural metal finishing product. Cenamelize coatings are made with 70% Kynar developed to match anodized colors, such as light bronze, medium bronze and dark bronze, as well as clear anodized. We also offer Cenamelize texture coatings, developed to match different textures and color variations, such as to custom match stucco, marble, vein finish as well as splatter coat finish.

Polyurethane
Certified Enameling, Inc. offers polyurethanes from any and all suppliers, and many of our clients choose this option for keeping the building surface and accent features shining for years to come. Polyurethane coatings are noted for their ability to retain color and to maintain glossiness. Note that air dry polyurethane finishes require up to one week of lead time.

Polyester
We offer polyester coating materials from any and all of the major suppliers. Polyester offers outstanding qualities of durability when exposed to the elements out of doors, including UV radiation and weathering, while also being a cost-effective solution.

Baked Enamels
Baked enamels are outstanding for their ability to preserve color and prevent rusting and corrosion, largely thanks to their ability to resist UV radiation. They can normally be applied in a one-coat process without a primer and form strong bonds with the underlying surface.

Red Oxide Primers
Ideally suited for use on iron, aluminum and steel, red oxide primer is a lead-free and oil-based primer that is noted for its high quality and resistance to corrosion. It is frequently used on railings and window frames, among other applications.

Epoxy Primers
Epoxy primers are noted for their optimal qualities of adhesion and their ability to hide imperfections on the substrate, whether it is applied to aluminum, fiberglass, plastic or other materials. They are frequently used as a base coat over bare steel and are particularly valued for being resistant to corrosion.

Acrylics
An acrylic may either be thermoplastic - becoming pliable and moldable when heated above a certain temperature and then returning to a solid state upon cooling - or may be thermosetting, meaning that it cures when subjected to high heat. In the context of shop-applied coatings, they are typically applied to coat metal roofs and similar surfaces, for which they offer advantages such as long life and durability.
